2014

• Observership Stay in London Primary Care Practices within the Spandoc Exchange scheme. 2-13.11.2014.

During this stay I had the opportunity to sit in with GPs, practice nurses, health visitors, district nurses and admin staff to learn how British primary care works within the NHS. I also had the chance to appreciate differences in organisation and style with Spain and to practise my English language skills in professional settings. Supervisor Dr Davies.

2013

• Observership Stay in London Palliative Care Services within the Spandoc Exchange scheme. 16-20.12.2013.

During this stay I had the opportunity to visit St Christopher’s Hospice and join their Academy Programme. This programme combines practice observation facilitated by senior hospice clinicians with classroom presentations, group discussions and individual action planning.

2012

• Practical course in Time-Banking in Healthcare within the Spandoc Time Bank scheme. 5-17.2.2012.

During this stay I had the opportunity to visit Rushey Green Time Bank in Lewisham, London and join their 2-week training programme. The Time Bank, based in a GP practice, aims to to empower clients to be pro-active to reduce the isolation and dependencies that can prevent them from experiencing a sense of being in control, wellbeing and belonging. The training programme provides understanding of the benefits of time banking for patients and tools to develop other similar healthcare-based schemes. Supervisor Mr Phillip Granger.

2009 – 2014

• Responsible for weekly clinical discussion meetings at the primary care practice, 50% of them with secondary care consultants.

2013 – now

• Member of the Hypertension Working Group of the Spanish Society for Family Medicine and co-author of its annually published guidelines.
